Who removes wreaths and flowers after the burial and after how many days?
Following the burial ceremony, the wreaths and flowers are removed by the personnel of Zagrebački holding d.o.o. (Zagreb City Housing and Municipal Services Company)– its City Cemeteries subsidiary. In the period from the 1st of November and the 1st of April, wreaths are removed after 20 days, and in the period from the 1st of April to the 1st of November 10 days following the burial. Upon the client's special request, the wreaths can be removed even before the afore-mentioned period.

Whose responsibility is to cement the cover plate following the burial?
The cementing of the cover plate can be ordered together with the other services or separately upon request when arranging the burial with the funeral company.

What should I do if I notice a theft or a damage upon visiting the grave?
You need to report the theft to the police. The damage is to be reported to the Technical service of the City Cemeteries subsidiary in writing.

Do I need a permit for monument engraving?
For monument engraving you need a permit which is issued at the Technical service at Mirogoj cemetery.

What do I need to do in order to get the permit for grave or urn case decoration?
The user files a request for the exeution of works. It is necessary to submit a scheme with dimensions. The works can be performed exclusively by the authorised contractor /stonemason/.

What is a grave, a grave pit?
A GRAVE is a concrete lower slab with a connection onto the sewerage system, while a GRAVE PIT has no connection in this respect.

What is exhumation?
Exhumation is the act of digging up and relocating the deceased. It is performed upon the request and with the consent of all the close family members and the user of the grave from which the body of the deceased is exhumated and into which it is relocated. What is grave deepening exhumation? Grave deepening exhumation is the act of relocating the deceased for the purpose of providing additional space for further burials. It can be carried out if 15 years have passed since the last standard burial (casket) into the grave or 30 years since the burial into the tomb (in this case we are talking about the relocation of the deceased into a smaller coffin and/or ossuary built for the purpose of providing space in the tomb.
